This is a spectacular piece that would look fabulous on anyone. The ring is made of handmade dichroic glass cabochon set in fine silver 999. The back is stamped with 999FS (Fine Silver mark) and the inside of the band is signed with my initials.
Ring Size: 8
Dichroic glass cabochon: 26x18 mm
Di-chroic means two colored (or multicolored). This type of glass transmits light in one wavelength, & reflects light in two other wavelengths. It is common for dichroic glass to appear as 2 or 3 different colors, simultaneously. It is not possible to capture all the nuances of dichroic glass in photographs. That, of course, means that you will have an even more dynamic piece of jewelry when you are holding it in your very own hand!
What is PMC? A unique form of pure silver (mainly composed of recycled silver particles) suspended in an organic binder. In this clay-like state it allows PMC artists to form and sculpt metal clay by hand. When fired at high temperatures by torch or in a jeweler's kiln, the binder burns off and the silver particles are fused together. The result is a one-of-a-kind pure silver piece (.999) purer than Sterling silver (.925)
