Science jewelry Biohazard necklace fine silver pendant on leather cord

This eye-catching pendant was handmade and created by me using Fine Silver Precious Metal Clay (PMC). The back is signed with my initials and stamped with 999FS (Fine Silver mark). To display the Biohazard symbol pattern, I selectively applied patina and as a finishing touch I hand-polished the pendant to a satiny glow.

The pendant is threaded with black leather cord and fastens with a sterling silver lobster clasp and extension chain, which I've finished off with a tiny silver ball. The total length (including clasp and extension chain) is adjustable from 15 to 16 ½ inches (38 to 42 cm) but can be made longer or shorter to match your preferences. The size of the pendant is 1 1/8 inches across (3x3 cm).

This necklace will be made to order so please allow 7-10 days extra for me to finish this neckalce. Also, as this is a handmade piece of jewelry, please allow slight variations in form and size.

What is PMC? A unique form of pure silver (mainly composed of recycled silver particles) suspended in an organic binder. In this clay-like state it allows PMC artists to form and sculpt metal clay by hand. When fired at high temperatures by torch or in a jeweler's kiln, the binder burns off and the silver particles are fused together. The result is a one-of-a-kind pure silver piece (.999) purer than Sterling silver (.925)
