I wanted to create something for my Microbiology collection and because my master thesis project was about S. pneumoniae (Streptococcus pneumoniae) I felt that it was a perfect opportunity to show them in artistic way :)

The pendant in this necklace is totally made from scratch using various gauges of sterling silver wire. The frames were meticulously coiled with sparkling micro-faceted Rock Crystal Clear Quartz rondelles. The necklace fastens with a lobster clasp and extension chain, which I've finished off with a single Clear Quartz rondelle.

All metal used is sterling silver. The silver has been oxidized to enhance the details. The total length (including clasp and extension chain) is adjustable from 19 to 20 inches (48 to 53 cm). The total length of the pendant including bails is approximately 1 1/2 inches long (4 cm).

This necklace will be made to order so please allow 5-7 days extra for shipping. Also, as this is a handmade piece of jewelry, please allow slight variations in form and size.
