The pendant in this necklace is created out of glass (by me) using fused glass technique. The different shades of glass are cut, shaped, layered and fused multiple times in a kiln.

Dimensions: 1.1" x 0.71" (~ 28 mm x 18 mm)

The bail is sterling silver. The included sterling silver chain is a sturdy, elegant, and comfortable chain. It is available in 18" (45 cm).

This necklace is made to order so please allow 5-7 days extra for shipping. Also, as this is a handmade piece of jewelry, please allow slight variations in form, size and pattern of the cells.

Science talk now :)

Cyanobacteria (also called blue-green algae) are an ancient group of photosynthetic microbes that can be found in almost every terrestrial and aquatic habitat – oceans, fresh water, damp soil, temporarily moistened rocks in deserts, bare rock and soil, and even Antarctic rocks. They include about 2000 species in 150 genera, with a wide range of colors, shapes and sizes. Cyanobacteria use photosynthetic pigments, such as carotenoids, phycobilins, and various forms of chlorophyll, which absorb energy from light. Because of these pigments, Cyanobacteria species can be blue, green, brown, yellow, black, or red. This necklace was inspired by the green varieties such as Nostoc sp.
